Call for Development Group Members – Guideline SPAD Risk Management review
The closing date for nominations – Wednesday 26 June 2024.
The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from industry representatives and subject matter experts to review the Guideline – SPAD Risk Management.
How will this product help the rail industry?
Your contribution to the review of this Guideline will help determine good practice in preventing and mitigating the risks arising from a Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD). It will also help to improve the current understanding of SPAD risks.
About
This document identifies a range of resources that may be accessed for further information about SPADs and SPAD risk management. The Guideline shares good practice and solutions within the rail industry.
Effective management of SPAD risks will assist in managing a range of other rail safety risks. The same precursors to SPADs can be factors leading to many other risks, and good SPAD performance is a sound indicator of good safety management.
Time commitment
Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. There will be a minimum of six meetings held between July 2024 and February 2025.
Further information on the responsibilities of a Development Group member can be obtained from the RISSB Website.
How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter specialist to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the product.
All nominations and enquiries are to be submitted via email to our Standards Development Manager Andrew Muscat at amuscat@rissb.com.au.
As part of your nomination, please provide a brief including your contact details, organisation and position, interest in this development (materially affected party, subject matter specialist, etc.), and any other information supporting your participation. This information will assist us in ensuring balanced representation from all major interest categories in developing this document.
