RISSB Announces New Board Appointment

The RISSB Board has appointed Dr Tim Kuypers to the position of Independent Director.

Dr Kuypers, the Principal and founder of Walbrook Partners, has more than 20 years’ experience working in regulatory environments and brings both strong leadership and governance expertise to the RISSB Board.

Tim has extensive knowledge of, and experience in, the rail industry. A founding board member of TrackSAFE, Tim worked in several strategic executive positions in Asciano, including Group General Manager Regulation and Head of Safety.

Prior to joining Asciano, Tim held senior positions in the telecommunications sector such as BigPond Group Regulatory Manager at Telstra, Vice President Public Policy Europe for Cable & Wireless and Market Analyst at Oftel, the UK telecommunications regulator. He has also worked on behalf of economic consulting firms NECG in Australia and NERA in the UK.

Dr Kuypers brings a depth of knowledge and skills to the RISSB Board including financial management, stakeholder engagement, risk management and strategy development.
