Click here Edition 34, September 2023 INSIDE THIS EDITION+ CEO Message CEO MESSAGELast week we had the pleasure of hearing from Kevin Morrison from Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and Dr Julia Pitsopoulos from Human Factors Risk Assessment (HFRM) at another RISSB MasterClass Webinar. Their presentation was incredibly insightful, as they discussed the work that is being done to simplify Track Protection methodologies and processes using a Human Factors approach across the rail industry. Like the many other organisations, RISSB recognises the value of understanding and learning from those incidents that inevitably happen on our track network. RISSB and ONRSR partnered with the Australian Centre for Rail Innovation to explore track worker safety (TWS) options available for Australian railways in the Track Worker Safety Options Report. The report is the culmination of extensive research to identify applicable technologies, and comprehensive engagement with stakeholders around the country, to first characterise the technology and ultimately examine a path to adoption that is both effective and commercially viable. You can view the report here. Please note, you will need be logged in to RISSB's website to view the report.
