Our Standards Development Manager, Carly Wilson, will be chairing the upcoming Rail Turnouts Conference, hosted by Informa Australia. Turnouts are an integral piece of equipment when it comes to rail safety and efficiency,
which is why they have always been a key focus for RISSB. Carly will be discussing the work we are doing to improve the safety and effectiveness of rail turnouts, and how future-proofing, technology readiness, and a fresh look at asset management are among the industry priorities being pushed this year. Damien White PRODUCTSCall for Public Consultation - AS 7453 Recruitment and Selection of Rail Traffic DriversThe review of AS 7453 Recruitment and Selection of Rail Traffic Drivers is now open for an 60 day Public Consultation. The Standard has been reviewed and updated by a Development Group consisting of industry specialists and subject matter experts. The review aimed to provide a more consistent approach to the recruitment and selection of rail traffic drivers within the Australian and New Zealand railway industry. TRAINING AND EVENTSAustralian Rail Innovation: Testing autonomous wagons on the Arc networkJoin us for another RISSB MasterClass Webinar, where we will be joined by Mary John, Director of Business Development at Parallel Systems, and Simon Gilders, Head of Development at Arc Infrastructure. Arc Infrastructure have partnered with Parallel Systems USA, to develop a prototype of a battery-powered autonomous wagon which will be capable of moving single shipping containers independent of a locomotive or on-vehicle driver.
