RISSB COVID-19 Business Update
RISSB has been closely monitoring the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and takes the development of this situation seriously.
The health and safety of our employees, members and suppliers is of the utmost importance to us and remains a priority for our organisation.
As a business, we are heeding the advice of the World Health Organisation and state and federal authorities to ensure that we our upholding our commitment to safety.
We are taking recommended precautions with respect to personal hygiene and disinfection, postponing events and limiting non-essential business travel until we are satisfied that the risk posed by COVID-19 is mitigated to a level of control.
RISSB Events, Training and Meetings UPDATE March – July 2020
As of today:
- All conferences and forums planned for the first half of 2020 have been postponed until further notice. This includes RISSB’s Rail Safety Conference, RISSB’s Technology and Innovation Conference, the cross-industry Safety Managers Group, the National Track Worker Safety Forum, Horizons 2.0 Forum and the Sharing Investigations Forum.
- Going forward, RISSB’s Standard Development Managers will be conducting Development Group and Standing Committee meetings via teleconference or utilising video conference facilities.
- We currently haven’t cancelled any training as a result of COVID-19 and, at this stage, do plan to go ahead with a training course to be held in Port Hedland for BHP. However, depending on the advice from BHP, this course may be postponed.
We’re still running the next Steps in Harmonising Railway Rules meeting on Thursday, 2 April 2020, however this meeting will be run as a teleconference.
We will continue to monitor developments and keep you informed when or if our position changes.
