RISSB frisbee takes off at AusRAIL 2024

The RISSB frisbee was an absolute showstopper at the AusRAIL 2024 in Gold Coast.

From the moment RISSB CEO Damien White held up the frisbee during his presentation, there was a steady stream of intrigued members lining up for one at our exhibition booth.

Credit where it’s due – the frisbee idea firmed up when Aurizon’s Dylan Hoskin and Emmanuel Cindric launched a light-hearted campaign to find a RISSB frisbee at the 2024 Rail Safety Conference. Six months on, RISSB has delivered.

The exchange of the frisbee was a great way to meet representatives of our members and other attendees – amid the fun, we managed to have some serious discussions about our standards and guidelines, training programs, the 2025 RISSB Rail Safety Awards and the Horizons Program, which will be in its seventh year in 2025.

Many of our over 400 Horizons alumni visited the RISSB booth and we were excited to note the progress that many have made forging forward with their career in the rail industry.

Congratulations to the ARA for organising another great event – it was fantastic to how engaged and enthusiastic participants were. The energy was infectious!

For now, the RISSB frisbee is out of stock! Maybe, just maybe it might make another appearance at the 25th RISSB Rail Safety Conference in May 2025.
