RISSB Project Priority Forum
The purpose of this communiqué is to remind our stakeholders that RISSB will be convening its annual Project Priority Forum in Melbourne on Wednesday 27 April 2016. The aim of this event is to determine RISSB’s project priorities for FY2016-17.
The venue for the forum this year is Rydges Melbourne Hotel, 186 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. It will commence at 10:00 and finish no later than 17:00.
A similar prioritising process will be followed to that adopted in 2015, however, we will also be seeking input from our member organisations over coming weeks to ensure that their priority projects have been identified, and they’re not disadvantaged if they can’t make it to the forum in person. Prior to the forum participants will be provided with a list of projects which has been developed over the past year and prioritised by members of RISSB’s Standing Committees. RISSB’s member organisations will also have the opportunity to contribute to this process and their preferences will be consolidated into the results.
- As in past years no new projects will be introduced at the forum. However, stakeholders are welcome to submit projects for consideration no later than Friday 11 March 2016. RISSB’s website: http://www.rissb.com.au/products/proposing-product/ contains advice on how to go about this including a form to complete and lodge (T-01-Proposing-a-Product)
On receipt of this list participants should assess the projects based on their respective organisation’s risk profile and either obtain their organisation’s agreement of the list as it stands, or reorder it accordingly.
During the forum, participants will be requested to work with others to determine a national priority list of projects based on their organisation’s priorities. Previous forum outcomes suggest many of the priorities will be aligned. However, where they aren’t, a debate will occur and a consensus reached on the preferred order of these projects. Those projects assigned the highest priority (priority one) will be funded in FY2016-17, depending upon the resources available to RISSB.
Organisations (or individuals) with an interest in RISSB’s project priorities for FY2016-17 are invited to nominate for this forum. As places are limited please respond as soon as possible and before 1 April 2016 to Mr Kirk Alber on (02) 6270 4528 or by email at kalber@rissb.com.au.
The RISSB team looks forward to your valuable contribution at the forum.
