International Railway Safety Council Conference 2019On behalf of the local organising committee, we would like to invite you to join us in Perth this October for the 29th International Railway Safety Council (IRSC) Conference.The IRSC's annual conference is a forum that brings together rail safety professionals from around the
globe in order to exchange information and provide experiences and lessons for improving rail safety and is exclusively devoted to rail safety issues. This year's conference is being organised by a committee comprising the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator. Reflecting the theme, Innovation and Technology: Changing the Future of Rail Safety,
the IRSC 2019 features an engaging conference program including stakeholder meetings, plenary speakers, technical visits and a fantastic social program showcasing Australia’s sunniest capital city. The IRSC and its delegates make a significant contribution to the ongoing improvement of rail safety management and performance around the world and we would like you to join in the gathering of rail safety professionals to discuss the challenges we are facing in the future and what we can do to overcome them.
Industry experts will present papers on three sub-themes for the conference:- Ensuring Railway Safety in New Technology and Work Practices
- Maintaining Interoperability in Innovation
- Can Risk Management and Assurance Keep Pace with Technology?
The IRSC is bringing together 35 speakers from 13 countries including:- Germany

The conference program includes exclusive site tours for delegates
Site Tour 1
IRSC 2019 delegates will enjoy a tour of Speno Rail Maintenance Australia's facility and Roy Hill's Remote Operations Centre in Perth on Thursday, 17 October.
Site Tour 2
On Friday, 18 October, delegates will step aboard a chartered flight to Port Hedland to visit Roy Hill's Tad yard and the Pilbara Ports Authority premises at Port Hedland (limited spaces available).
NB Another option for Friday, 18 October is still being considered.

Enjoy a taste of Australian delicacies at Sandalford Wines, one of Western Australia’s oldest, largest and most distinguished wineries. There will even be the opportunity to meet some Australian furry animals.
