Human Factors MasterClass Webinar Tuesday, 1 March 2022

Next week's MasterClass webinar presenter, Helen Kieboom from Metro Trains Melbourne, will be discussing how to integrate human factors into large complex projects. Helen will be sharing successful human factors habits from current Victorian rail infrastructure projects and providing recommendations for projects new to the integration of human factors.

Kristyn Lehman ‌|‌ Arup

Hi, my name is Kristyn Lehman and I work as a Track and Civil Engineer for Arup in Brisbane. I’ve been working in the rail industry for over 8 years now.

I’ve recently started designing and boarding my skills in the rail alignment side, my previous design experience has been more around combined services routes (CSR) for High voltage and low voltage requirements for signalling, OHLE and traction power.

In my spare time I enjoy catching up with friends and family and going to the beach.

Joe Billich |‌ Rail Projects Victoria

I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at RMIT, then worked in residential developments and building services for a few years and am now happily in the rail industry. My current position is a Power Systems Project Engineer at Rail Projects Victoria, focusing on the Melbourne Airport Rail and Metro Tunnel Projects.

When im not working I’ll either be driving/trying to fix my old Datsun, or chasing my two Jack Russell’s around at the park.

Luke Varalla |‌ VicTrack

My Name is Luke Varalla and I am the Rail Operations Supervisor for VicTrack. I have been working within the rail industry since 2011 working in various operational roles before I moved to VicTrack in 2015.

As a Operations Supervisor my day to day involves the safety and management of the North Dynon freight terminal in Melbourne and 3 smaller rail sidings nearby. My main responsibility is the management of the track infrastructure and the asset management planning so we can keep the network running safely and at full capacity.

Jordan Hannagan ‌|‌ SNC-Lavalin

I grew up in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne and attended Monash Uni, where I studied Aerospace Engineering and was lucky enough to go on exchanges to Malaysia and the US. I joined the rail industry as a mechanical rollingstock graduate at Jacobs, before spending two years as a maintenance engineer at Yarra Trams. I’ve recently joined SNC-Lavalin as a Senior Rollingstock Consultant. Outside of work I love surfing, live music and spending time with friends and family.
