Reminder - Submissions Into RISSB's 2023/24 Planning Process Due 16 December

This is a reminder that if you would like your idea to be considered for the 2023 / 2024 work plan, we must receive your
completed product proposal forms by Friday, 16 December 2022.

More information about our Priority Planning Process can be found on this webpage where you will find a link to a form to use. Completed forms must be sent to info@rissb.com.au.

Each submission will need to consider:

* Expected impact in facilitating and improving the interoperability and harmonisation across Australia’s railways
* Expected impact on national safety levels 
* Quantified safety, financial, and environmental benefits
* Expected level of adoption (sector or industry-wide).

We thank you in advance for your input and ideas. Your feedback is vitally important to the work that RISSB does on behalf of our industry.

Code Of Practice: Shunting Operations In Terminals, Yards And Maintenance Facilities Update

Shunting in terminals, yards and maintenance facilities is a high risk activity.  This Code of Practice attempts to provide a common set of rules and guidelines for the safe movement of rolling stock.

The Development Group met last week to close out the feedback from the initial review. Further changes were discussed, and a revised draft has been issued to the group for consideration.

AS 1085.19  Resilient Fastening Assemblies Update

The Development Group met this week to review the public comments and feedback received through the independent review, with some changes made to improve the Guideline further. With the completion of the Development Group sign-off, the Guideline will be publicly available in February 2022.

Guideline: Condition Monitoring – Fixed Rail Infrastructure Update

The Development Group has completed the development of this Guideline, which is now available for access via the RISSB website.

Horizons Program 5.0 Update

Nominations for RISSB's Horizons Program 5.0 have closed and we've been overwhelmed by the response to our call for nominations, with applications received from infrastructure managers, rail operators and suppliers right across the country.

The good news is that successful nominees will be contacted in the coming weeks with plenty of time for everyone to start preparing for the first forum in February.

Derailment Investigation and Analysis Workshop February 2023 

We're accepting bookings for our next Derailment Investigation and Analysis Workshop which will be held in Brisbane on 7-9 February 2023.
