Strong Industry Interest in SPAD Investigations Proforma

Nearly 15 organisations have nominated a member for the reference group for the development of a SPAD investigations pro-forma for industry. These include ARTC, Aurizon, MTM, V/Line, ALTRAC, Gold Coast Light Rail (Keolis Downer), Transdev NZ, NSW Trains, Sydney Trains, DPTI(SA), QR, PTAWA and KiwiRAIL.  The initial reference group meeting will be held on Wednesday 17 June 2020.

AS 7511 Onboard train protection systems

The purpose of this document is to provide requirements, recommendations and guidance for onboard train protection systems and establishes industry standards for these systems.

AS 7724 Unauthorized movement protection - Operational requirements

This Standard supports a consistent approach to identifying engineering processes for the protection of running lines against unauthorized movements of rolling stock. It includes common causes, the possible hazards of unauthorized movements of rolling stock, operational considerations and identifies situations where protection could be required.

AS 7658 Level Crossings Moves Ahead

The Development Group have worked hard over the past 4 weeks to review all comments received during the Public Consultation phase. This work was completed this week, which allows for the validation process to begin and be completed by the end of June. A final review will then be conducted prior to submission for publication.
