The meeting heard from light rail operators about LRTAEs and ONRSR also provided further information and the national rail safety data strategy and changes for SPAD and LRTAE reporting. The SPAD/LRTAE Group is proposing to progress a number of new projects relating to Risk Triggered Commentary and Technology / New Infrastructure. Horizons Program Maintains Momentum We've received strong interest in next year's Horizons Program 3.0 following its official launch last week at our Rail Safety Conference. For information about the Horizons Program 3.0 including how to nominate someone, please go to the Horizons page on RISSB's website. Mind The Gap Project Progressing Horizons 1.0 and 2.0 participants have provided feedback on areas in which they could benefit in terms of skills development. These included the gaps they saw in their development, barriers to skills development and how courses should be delivered. This is being discussed within RISSB and it is likely the Horizons Program 3.0 will incorporate some of the issues raised. The METRONET Experience Next week's webinar guest presenter is Owen Thomas from Western Australia's Public Transport Authority who will be discussing the METRONET program of work. Register to attend next week's webinar event by clicking on the 'Register Now' button below this story. AS 7522 Access and Egress The Development Group met online for the first time last week to discuss the objective and scope of the new document. The draft is currently in its final stages and we are hopeful that this will be presented for public consultation late November. Wheel Defects Code of Practice This document is currently progressing through approvals, as the Development Group has completed its work. The Code of Practice is well regarded by industry as a tool for in service/field inspection of rolling stock wheels and we hope to publish it in early December.
