AS 7488 Railway rolling stock - Locomotive and passenger vehicle flooring

The objective of this standard is to provide a common type approval process nationally for the benefit of RTOs, suppliers, designers and manufacturers.
It provides a process for evaluating new or modified railway products that are intended to be applied throughout the railway industry supply chain. It also supports a consistent approach for the harmonization and the management of new and modified railway products.
The standard provides information about mutual recognition (Product Information Pack and Product Approval Pack) but does not cover the Product Selection Process.

This Standard describes the hydrological and hydraulic requirements for the design and assessment of railway infrastructure in relation to all forms of drainage and flood-prone areas.

The objective of this Standard is to ensure the continuing harmonization of signalling systems across Australian networks. This standard seeks to ensure that all new and modified rolling stock are compatible with train detection systems including those identified for the individual networks upon which it is intended to operate.
